Maura Lindsey is a New Orleans based photographer.

She received her BFA from Loyola University in Digital Filmmaking and Studio Art in 2022. Here she spent several years focusing on documentary photography through capturing individuals of New Orleans and local entertainers, providing her with a love for spontaneity and raw momentsAs she expanded into more formal portraits, she maintained her motive of 'finding the moment' and leans towards work that though often takes place in a controlled environment, captures a second in time which feels organic.

A major element in her work is the intent of taking photographs that are reflective of those who are in them. Whether these be entertainers, models, or people she simply encounters, she aims to look beyond the performance of being in front of a camera and shed light on the true personality at hand. Ther photography is not a solo act, but rather a conversation between subject and artist. She finds it imperative to her creative process to understand those she collaborates with and let shots flow freely, working as a guide to capture the most authentic image.

Her work has been featured in Downtown Panama City's The Lightroom's 20 Under 20 Exhibit (2018), Loyola University's Clusterfunk Exhibit (2018), and the cover for Marigny Hemenway and James Lerlile's Voodoo single (2020), along with promotional materials for many New Orleans entertainers. Her nightlife photography has been published in Where Y'at Magazine for their 2024 Decadence issue and in The Guardian for their coverage of Katrina's effect on the growth of LGBTQ nightlife in New Orleans.
